One of the most beautiful traditions, celebrated only in this way here in Barcelona, is St George's Day or, as the Catalan's say, Dia de Sant Jordi.
The legend of St Jordi is known the world over, but here is a little reminder. It's a fairytale of love, in which a dragon, who has been praying on towns people, has captured the Princess. But, never fear, the valiant St Jordi comes to the rescue! He slays the dragon and, of course, gets the girl. Legend has it that the dragons blood became a red red rose - and so the day of St Jordi was born!
On this day (23rd April) here in Barcelona, traditionally, in couples, the girl receives a rose and the man receives a book. So, the city is packed with book stalls, book signings, roses and lovers taking the day in.
In modern day Catalunya, you will find the most central streets of the 'Ciudad Condal' (Passeig de Gracia, Las Ramblas, Rambla Catalunya etc...) packed with people browsing all of the book stalls and roses on sale, but the whole city is consumed with fairytale love. It really is a sight to be seen.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
We visited el Parc de les aigues, my old apartment building and the surrounding area!
I have been living in Barcelona for 2 months now, and only today have I wandered down into my old neighbourhood, Gracia. My parents and I moved to the UK when I was 7, but we had an apartment there until I was 13 years old, so I have many great memories from this area of the City.
One of my best friends, Melanie, came to visit me this weekend, and I wanted to show her my old haunts! Having spent the day in the sun the day before, we were both quite badly burnt. I needed to be covered up and decided to go for a look I like to call the "Dora the Explorer" look. Enjoy...

No M'oblidis. T'estimo!
Don't forget me. I love you!
I love collages and decided to decorate my bare white walls with a collage of photos of my friends and family, making me feel more at home here in Barcelona. I started off with some of my favourites - Erin Wasson for Replay is just Too Cool... And worked my way around them with photos of my beautiful friends!
Check out the process here!

Like Grandmother like Granddaughter!
I went to have lunch with my beautiful grandmother Ita today and although you would never guess, she is 91 years old! She's always been incredibly elegant and has the most enviable wardrobe, with classic vintage pieces from her youth, to modern costume jewellery! Stylish as ever, she opened the door to greet me, in a very similar ensemble to mine - Sunglasses and hat! We found it so amusing we decided to document it all...

Time for some R&R
Spring has sprung ladies and gents!
It's time to get our dresses, sandals and trilby hats out and start enjoying longer days and sunshine. I am currently living in Barcelona, and had the chance to visit the beautiful medieval town of Castello D'empuries for the weekend, where we did a photoshoot in the beautiful Villa De Castello Hotel.
It was a very casual shoot, inspired by our surroundings - the beautifully rustic hotel decor. Enjoy the shoot, the season and make sure you get some R&R this month!
