I've just spent Christmas in Spain with my family, in the seaside town of Cadaques on the Costa Brava. Historically, in this small Catalan town, the doors were traditionally painted to represent the house owner's profession. For example, if your door is painted green it means your trade is the sea, if it's blue it means you are nobility or work for a trade (other than the sea) and if it's painted red it means you have been involved in piracy! Obviously this does not apply to the present day, but the doors are still painted in these three colours! So here are some snaps...
